Education
I have moved all over the state of Oklahoma, and even lived in Colorado and New Mexico. I have always loved English and literature, not necessarily English. While my education has consisted mainly of English literature, I have also learned quite a bit of grammar and writing skills. I have had a small amount of poetry published and am working on a tween trilogy, of which the first one is published. My teaching has mainly consisted of preparing students to take the GED. I enjoyed teaching to write an essay. I think I could teach students to write fiction and would like to try my hand at helping students with fictional prose and poetry. I have worked a great deal in hospitals, mainly in a large state mental hospital and surgeries in two hospitals. When I wasn't in school. I.ve worked for a large part behind locked doors where other people could not go. This doesn't have a lot to do with English, but it does give one a certain unique view of life.
Experience
I wish to be a tutor because I'm older now, sixty-six, but I don't feel I'm done teaching. Tutoring seems like a good way without taking on the load of a traditional school schedule. I finished my BA in English at Northeastern Oklahoma State University after starting at Oklahoma University. I also did a short stint at Southwestern University at Weatherford, OK, wher I did well in team sports, but fared poorly in Chemistry. I picked up many hours in Drama and accomplished a minor in Speech. I finished the first semester in Law School at Oklahoma City University, so I do have the beginning Contracts, Torts, and Civil Procedure under my belt. Then I went back to Northeastern and got my MA in English Literature.

Hobbies
Of course, I read avidly, almost all things and all the time. And I write fiction and poetry. I used to hunt quail, ducks, and doves. I gave it up along with fishing when I decided that hurting and killing something except for food wasn't fun. Then I took up backpacking, which worked well until I was diagnosed with MS. This stopped my long distance running, but I can still walk, so maybe I'm not done backpacking. Time will tell.
